Gardening in our Changing Climate: What Can You Do? In-Person
Your prefered title for the program: Gardening in our Changing Climate: What Can You Do? (Let me know if this is too direct or not catchy enough)
2. a 2-3 paragraph write up of the program. Our Cape Cod weather has changed in recent years. Summers may start about the same time, but they are warmer and lasting longer. We have been experiencing longer periods without substantial summer rainfall. We also are in a cycle of year around drought conditions. Our traditional expectations about what plants will work in our gardens must adapt to our changing climate. Rising waters and mother nature's weather are not something we can individually act on, but what you plant in your garden and how you care for it are a matter of personal choice and may also be less expensive. Gary Bowden, a member of the Cape Cod Master Gardeners Association and Founding Member of the Pollinator Pathway Cape Cod add a perspective on gardening in our current climate as part of this year's Climate Week at the Eastham Library.
