The Provincetown Jazz Festival (provincetownjazzfestival.org) & Eastham Public Library present free concerts hosted by Bart Weisman (drums) with Bill Pernice (piano) & Ron Ormsby (bass). The musicians will be talking about Jazz and the songs being performed by the Jazz Trio.

Bart Weisman (bartweisman.com) is the Founder, Executive Producer & Performer for the non-profit Provincetown Jazz Festival and the Jazz in the Schools program. Bart performs with his Jazz Group, Smooth Jazz Group, Klezmer Swing Group, Cape Cod Jazz Trio & Quartet and has worked with a number of musicians on Cape Cod including: J. Geils, Molly Ringwald, Rebecca Parris, Shawnn Monteiro, Eddie Higgins, Lou Colombo, Dick Johnson, and many more. Bart hosts Jazz Jam Cape Cod at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and Summer Jazz with Bart Weisman Concert Series at Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Bart performs at these Restaurants: The West End in Hyannis, Bleu in Mashpee, Dan’l Webster in Sandwich, and The Vine in Falmouth. Bart is the Jazz Band Director at Sturgis East (high school) and Directs the Sturgis East & West Big Band. Bart relocated with his wife to Cape Cod from Washington, D.C. and was with The United States Air Force Band.

Bill Pernice is a pianist and composer who recently moved to Eastham and hails from the Hudson Valley in New York. Bill has worked with musicians in the New York metropolitan area and on the road with Shelia Jordan, Cameron Brown, Jon Hendricks, and many others. Bill is on three grammy award winning albums with the Jimmy Sturr Band and has played and recorded with Willie Nelson in Nashville, TN. 

Ron Ormsby is a jazz bassist originally from Boston, where he studied at the Berklee College of Music. In addition to performing at many of the local Boston jazz clubs, Ron was a founding member of the Boston Jazz Quartet. Ron owned and operated The Columns Restaurant, a well-known jazz club on Cape Cod and for twenty years was the bassist and personal manager for pianist Marie Marcus. Ron has also appeared in concert with jazz greats including Warren Vache, Joe Muranyi, Dick Johnson, Billy Stritch, Howard Alden, Ken Peplowski and many others. Ron performs with the Cape Cod Jazz Trio & Quartet.
